1. Wash the patient’s hair with a strong shampoo, which contains NO conditioners. Use water as warm as the patient can stand. Rinse well and towel dry.

  2. Comb the HEAD LICE HAIR OIL through the hair and scalp using a regular comb. (Avoid getting the oil into the eyes. If this does occur, just rinse the eyes with cold water. There is nothing toxic in the oil, it consists of a combination of vegetable oils and pure essential oils.)

  3. After combing the HEAD LICE HAIR OIL into the hair with a regular comb for about 5 minutes, begin combing through the hair using a metal lice detection comb. Comb through one section of the head at a time, checking and cleaning the comb for lice and nits (empty egg cases) after every stroke. Remove the lice and nits from the comb using a piece of tissue, a toothpick or rinsing the comb in hot water. You may need to experiment to find which method works the best for you. In most cases a combination of all three methods works most effectively. An old toothbrush works well for cleaning the lice detection comb.

  4. Depending on the length of the hair, you should take at least 30 comb strokes to cover the head.

  5. When treatment is completed, tie the hair up in a cotton bandana and leave the HEAD LICE HAIR OIL on the hair and scalp for a minimum of 4 hours, preferably overnight. You can protect your pillows by placing a towel under the patient’s head.

  6. In the morning or after a minimum of 4 hours, repeat the combing process as outlined above in #2. To make it easier to remove the nits, dip the comb in vinegar.

  7. After the completion of the combing process and all the lice and nit are removed, wash the patient’s hair with a strong shampoo, which contains NO conditioner. Apply the shampoo to the hair while dry, then wet the shampoo, and lather. This technique helps cut the oil and makes shampooing the hair easier.

  8. One application is usually sufficient to rid the patient of head lice, but if lice persists, repeat the treatment the next night. Head Lice Hair Oil is also very effective for scabies. Rub Head Lice Hair Oil into the affected area 3 to 4 times each day for ten days. Body Lice and “crabs” are also safely eradicated.
